Friendly services of the Foreign Affairs Section

In reaction to more and more foreign tourists traveling to Taitung, the Taitung County Police Bureau has set up an “exclusive 24-hour hotline” for foreigners to lodge police reports, put forth complaints and seek consultation. Specifically chosen personnel from the Foreign Affairs Section have been designated to provide the quickest, most thoughtful and friendly services through direct interaction.
As indicated by the former Director-General of Taitung County Police Bureau, Chih-Hsi Lin, due to the increasing numbers of immigrants, foreign spouses and tourists, it has become more and more important to provide foreigners with emergency aid and daily life counseling. Hence, in addition to the 24-hour hotline, the Bureau also issues name cards containing the hotline number for each police station and station office, and for patrolling police officers to carry with them. So, in case of any communication difficulty due to language barriers, foreigners may promptly call the hotline and receive instant online service from the foreign affairs police. The name cards are also available upon request at the on-duty desks and information desks of respective units. The telephone no. of the 24-hour foreigner service hotline is 0988-029004.
