Understanding Crime Victims Protection Act

In order to implement and protect the human rights of foreign workers, revisions of the [Crime Victims Protection Act] to include foreigner workers from mainland Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, victims of human trafficking who have a valid working permit and victims who have been sexually assaulted as protected subjects. This is in order to strengthen the rights and interests of foreign workers, their safety precautions and its protective mechanisms. The Council of Labor Affairs founded the opportunity to provide assistance to foreign workers who have been victimized along with various counties and cities. Other than the existing shelters, medical and legal assistance and psychiatric counseling, and other protective measures provided by the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Committee, under the new [Crime Victims Protection Act], victims can be referred to the Association for Protection of Victims of Crime, to be investigated, tried, or post judgment legal assistance. The Committee will also assist in investigating criminal behavior and seek legal compensation accordingly in order to constructively provide help to those victimize in hopes for them to have a swift recovery from physical and psychological harm
