Juvenile Counseling

For juveniles exhibiting serious misconduct, their custodians or legal representatives may file an application along with a letter of authorization with the Brigade for juvenile counseling. During the counseling period, the juvenile’s transportation and meal fees shall be paid by the applicant. The juveniles will be taught common legal knowledge and given psychological counseling. The length of the counseling period will be determined by the individual juvenile’s performance during the period at the Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Brigade.
The Brigade will periodically or non-periodically pay visits to the homes of the counseled juveniles in order to better understand their schooling, employment and living status.. In case that assistance is required, the Brigade will coordinate with the legal guardians, provide a referral and report to the education bureau, social welfare bureau or public/private juvenile welfare organizations for assistance. In doing so, these juveniles will not go astray again as a result of unemployment, family financial problem or discontinuation of their schooling.
