Owing to the fact that the recent casualty of passengers in the backseat of automobiles without fastening seat belts has been occurring domestically, the Legislative Yuan has ratified the amendments of certain provisions of the Regulations for Road Traffic Management and Punishment after the final reading, requiring that where the passenger in the backseat of an automobile fails to fasten the seat belt as required when the automobile is travelling on the road, the driver shall be fined NT$1,500; meanwhile, where the passenger in the backseat of an automobile fails to fasten the seat belt as required when the automobile is travelling on a freeway or express way, the driver shall be fined more than NT$3,000 but less than NT$6,000. 
Please ask the driver to charge according to mileage when riding in a taxi.  Where the driver charges through price negotiation or fails to charge according to the mileage, please report to our Traffic Police Brigade (Tel.
