After the victory against Japan in 1945, Taiwan was returned to its fatherland and became a province. In the year 1947, Taitung County Police Bureau(here in after called “the Bureau”) was established in accordance with the law until today.
In 1949, the mainland fell into China communist’s power, the security of Taiwan became more and more important. Therefore, the Bureau was strengthened inside by increasing divisions and outside by setting up precincts.
